The ACM Top New Artists Announced!
The Academy of Country Music has announced the winners of the Fan-voted Top New Artist sub-categories. Luke Bryan beat out Jamey Johnson and Chris Young to take home the Best Solo New Artist while Joey + Rory beat out Bomshel and Steel Magnolia to win the Top New Duo Award with American Music Award-winning Gloriana adding another fan-voted award to their mantle with them surpassing Eli Young Band and The Lost Trailers to take home The Best New Group award. Congrats to all three of the winners.
The winners will now be going for the Best New Artist award (again with fan votes allowed). Look for Gloriana to likely take home this award.
The Dixie Chicks To Tour with The Eagles and Keith Urban
Court Yard Hounds may have given folks thoughts that the Dixie Chicks weren’t going to ever record or tour again but the same year that Martie and Emily release their duo album will find them teaming up with Natalie to tour with The Eagles. Keith Urban will join the two
huge bands for a few select dates as well. Tickets go on sale this coming Monday for American Express card members and the general public will have access to buying tickets the following Monday (March 29, 2010).

“Hillbilly Bone” Goes #1 for Blake Shelton and Trace Adkins
With five #1 singles to his credit, Blake Shelton certainly knows how to pick songs that touch the hearts of fans nationwide. Yesterday he added another chart-topper to his list as “Hillbilly Bone” scores the top spot on the charts. It also returns Trace Adkins to the #1 spot for the first time since “You’re Gonna Miss This.” Blake’s last #1 was “She Wouldn’t Be Gone,” itself the follow-up hit to #1 hit “Home.”
Kid Rock Settles Lawsuit
Originally sued by three men for 15 million dollars, the Rock star with a Country heart recently settled with the men for $35,000. It was a civil suit brought up over a 2006 fight between the star and the three plaintiffs.
