The latest round of Grammy Award nominees are out and included on this year's country tally are four nominations for Keith Urban, three separate award nominations for The Zac Brown Band, Lee Ann Womack and George Strait. Carrie Underwood, Lady Antebellum and Jamey Johnson also lead the pack of other artists with a pair of nominations.  Taylor Swift scored a total of eight nominations incuding ones for three 'major categories.  Taylor Swift is up for Album of the Year, Single of the Year, Song of the Year while the Zac Brown Band is up for Best New Artist.  They represent the country music artists up for 'all-genre' award categories this year.

Keith urban had this to say about his four nominations: “I wrote and recorded Defying Gravity to touch upon the power of the human spirit. I had no idea that it would’ve connected in the way that it did.  We saw it night after night on the Escape Together Tour and to now end the year with these nominations is pure magic…”

"I knew there was something special about this song ["People Are Crazy"] the second I heard it," said Currington. "You know, it just had such a special feel and what a great story. I'm so glad that the Recording Academy heard what I did. This is such an honor to be nominated with two amazing songwriters like Bobby Braddock and Troy Jones."

Labelmate Johnson joked, "It's amazing to me that a song that didn't even hit the Top 20 is nominated for a Grammy. Maybe people really do appreciate music that is raw and real. 'High Cost of Living' is about as real as it gets."

"I'm so excited to have three Grammy nominations," said Strait. "My career has been full of surprises and here is another. What an honor! I'm in Vegas right now so there will be celebration."

A gracious Womack continued, "I'm very proud to work with Tony Brown, Chuck Ainlay, Waylon Payne and all the musicians that played on Call Me Crazy. I'm especially honored to have these nominations as they are voted on by peers and in a time where so much great music is being made. It's nice to know that what we're doing is relevant."
