Jamey Johnson & Kid Rock to Sing Together at 43rd CMA Awards

Jamey Johnson has been crowned the savior of traditional country music in some circles but the announcement today of his duet with Kid Rock for a performance on the Wednesday November 11, 2009 CMA Awards telecast is sure to ruffle some feathers.

Country music's favorite new outlaw, Jamey Johnson, has four nominations during "Country Music's Biggest Night" next week.  The rising star will now be performing a new duet with a rebellious outlaw named Kid Rock on the CMA Awards telecast.  While this is likely to ruffle the feathers of many traditionalists that called Jamey the 'great saviour of traditional country music,'  While Kid Rock is a rock star with rap tendencies, he is also a big fan of traditional and outlaw country music so the pairing makes sense on that level.  The song they sing may very well be the next single from Johnson while four-time winner Martina McBride was also announced as another performer for the 43rd CMA Awards broadcast.

Performers already announced include Jason Aldean, Brooks & Dunn, Kenny Chesney and Dave Mathews, Billy Currington, Vince Gill and Daughtry, Lady Antebellum, Miranda Lambert, Reba McEntire, Tim McGraw, Brad Paisley, Darius Rucker, George Strait, Sugarland, Taylor Swift, Carrie Underwood, Keith Urban, and Zac Brown Band.

The show is going to air Wednesday, November 11, 2009, which is also Veterans Day.
