Jack Ingram - "Seeing Stars"

Jack Ingram has scored at radio with his uptempo fare yet he's more than just a mainstream country rcoker as he proves on his current album Big Dreams & High Hopes.  This new single is a chance to show fans another side while hopefully continuing Jack's hit streak.

What an interesting man, that Jack Ingram. After wanting to get “Barefoot & Crazy” during the summertime, he returns with a truly elegant introspective song in “Seeing Stars” for the fall/winter time.  Featuring harmony vocals from singer/songwriter Patty Griffin, “Seeing Stars” finds Ingram in a philosophic state of mind as he sings lyrics like;

Wishin' on stars, only when you see 'em/It's like askin' God for help, only when you need it/
But I'm wishin' anyway, I'm wishin' anyway.

It’s the kind of song that isn’t heard all that often on country radio but that doesn’t mean the song doesn’t deserve a chance to be heard.  It’s one of the very best songs from Jack Ingram’s Big Dreams & High Hopes album, along with the title track.   Jack himself knows that releasing a song like “Seeing Stars” to radio may be a long, uphill fight but it’s one he’s willing to work to get it heard;

"We're going to have to fight like hell to get that song up the charts, to get it heard, but I'm betting that once it gets heard, people will love it as much as I do," he said to the Cleveland Plain Dealer.

Here’s hoping that people do get a chance to hear this beautiful wistful ballad and that it becomes one of Jack Ingram’s biggest radio hits.
