Jessica Harp - "Boy Like Me"

Just like she did as 1/2 of the Wreckers, Jessica Harp has come out with a song that will get her noticed at radio.  It has an infectious melody and lyrics that haven't been beaten to death. That being said can the song rise above the prejudice at radio against female artists?

After a short but ultimately successful run as 1/2 of the duo The Wreckers, Jessica Harp has released her first single to Country radio.  Written and produced by Jerry Flowers (Keith Urban's friend and longtime bassist), "Boy Like Me" is exactly the kind of song Jessica needed to help break through at radio.  The melody is jovial and I am going to guess this song was originally written for Keith Urban (as Girls Like Me) and given his connections to Jerry Flowers, that is Keith himself playing the guitar.  There's no denying it's him for it sounds just like something he'd lay down on tape for one of his own records.

"Boy Like Me" is simply an infectious and fun song. It's just the kind of track to help Jessica break through the female artist glass ceiling at country radio.  It has broad appeal for males and females and vocally there's a little Miranda Lambert in Jessica Harp's delivery.  This is about as close to cant miss as a song can get.
