Warning! Within the first 10 seconds of listening to Jeff Griffith’s latest single “Dip Me In Beer,” you are highly likely to have a smile come across your face.
A ditty in the purest sense of the word, “Dip Me In Beer” is the kind of song that used to populate the country music charts all the way up into a couple of years ago. Co-written by Jeff and Hobson Smith, this song has nonsensical lyrics that are delivered by Jeff over a rollicking honky tonk melody with his tongue firmly in cheek. While mainstream radio is unlikely to take this song seriously in the current climate (sadly, it’d only garner big-market radio airplay if coming from George Strait, Alan Jackson or Toby Keith), that shouldn’t stop some stations, particularly those in Texas, from playing “Dip Me In Beer.” This fact is a pure shame as “Dip Me In Beer” has more personality in that first ten seconds (and the remaining 2:56) than most songs currently on the charts.
If you really want to hear a great, fun and expressively country song then you should do yourself a favor and request this song on your local radio stations, at least until it becomes available digitally.
