Randy Houser - "Boots On"

After gaining a lot of credit for his debut single "Anything Goes" and now he is ready to show off a different side with his new single "Boots On."  With a melody that dances in the rockier side of country, Houser's strong vocal steers the song right into country. But is it any good?

After gaining people’s attention with his Top 20 hit ballad “Anything Goes,” Randy Houser is going in a completely different direction with his sophomore single “Boots On.”  Gaining a reputation around Nashville as a singer’s singer, Houser showcases his fun-lovin’ side singing a silly, light-hearted roadhouse-ready barn burner.  The production is crisp and the melody is that of a full-on southern rock song.  In fact the only things that keeps “Boots On” country are the lyrics and Houser’s impressive voice.

This is the kind of song that radio loves precisely because fans will also love it.  While the words do touch on the ‘country’ elements that seemingly permeate almost every male artist’s songs these days, “Boots On” never feels like it’s hitting you over the head with country clichés, which is a big ole plus for the song.  After impressing us with “Anything Goes,” Randy Houser has dropped a sophomore single that is sure to impress even more people.  There’s no way that “Boots On” isn’t a big radio hit and it’s soon to become a smash barroom hit that is sung by many bar bands.  This is one of the great things about country music and what separates Randy Houser from a lot of artists for one minute he is singing a profund track like "Anything Goes" and the next he can sing a fun, energetic song like "Boots On."
