Keith Urban - "Kiss A Girl"

Keith Urban’s lighthearted new single is good (mostly) clean summer fun—a lot like skinny dipping under the stars, it’s probably innocent but maybe it’s not.  Urban, expertly wielding his mega-star sex appeal, keeps us ladies guessing with “Kiss A Girl.” But is it a hit?

Keith Urban’s lighthearted new single is good (mostly) clean summer fun—a lot like skinny dipping under the stars, it’s probably innocent but maybe it’s not.  Urban, expertly wielding his mega-star sex appeal, keeps us ladies guessing with “Kiss A Girl.”  And who among us could resist his sly query: “Do you wanna try?/Are you ready to/Say goodbye/To all these rules?”

Undeniably catchy and unapologetically pop, “Kiss A Girl” is vintage Urban, showing off his knack for employing traditional country sounds (hear that banjo?) in patently non-traditional ways.  Co-producer Dann Huff’s clean lines and spare production leave the path clear for Urban to continue on his journey from country to pop stardom, and that’s a good thing: a talent like this one can’t be restrained by genre or convention.
