Trailer Choir - "What Would You Say"

After releasing the fun party song "Off The Hillbilly Hook" last summer, the Trailer Choir returns with a single that feels like it could be a hit for Big Vinny, Butter and Crystal.  Will radio and fans take to a single that is light years away from their first single?

Opening with intricately picked acoustic guitars and a swirling string section, “What Would You Say” draws introspective inspiration from West Virginia’s 2006 Sago mine disaster that took the lives of twelve men. In the song, vocalists Butter, Big Vinny and Crystal ask the listener to think about what they would write to loved ones if given only one more chance. And though the subject matter is thought provoking, the song gets lost in overly slick pop production and distorted rock guitars that make the piece more reminiscent of late-90s rock than country – even today’s country. The mix and production almost drown out the steel guitar and vocal harmony, and the mandolin is barely noticeable throughout the verse. Yet, Trailer Choir can sing and given the right opportunity, may be able to really connect with a song’s emotional depth.
