Richie Fields - "Devil In The Mirror"

With an ominous melodic backdrop, "Devil In The Mirror" comes at you quickly.  By the time Richie Fields' his you with that voice of his, you're sure to have bought into what he's singing, without even really listening to the lyrics.  He's that good. Is the song worth this praise?

As he proved with his first single “Man Enough To Cry,” (click here to read our review) Richie Fields was flat-out born to sing country music. With a voice that echos Conway Twitty, Ronnie Milsap, Jeff Bates and other soulful artists, Richie Fields proves that talented artists can find a way to get their music out to the masses, particularly with digital distribution now viable options.

Starting off with a swampy dark melody, Richie’s new single “Devil In The Mirror” grabbed my attention before a single lyric was sung. Using that melody as a backdrop, Richie sings a lyric that finds a man who’s struggling every day to fight the demons that that are often created by his own accord. There isn’t a person on earth, not even my saintly Grandmother, who cannot relate to these lyrics, particularly when they are paired with that sparse, just-right ominous melody. While this song will likely not get a true shot amongst the biggest hits of the day, that shouldn’t stop true-blue country fans from giving the talented Richie Fields a chance.
