Whitney Duncan - "The Bed That You Made"

Whitney Duncan has been kicking around for the better part of this decade yet her debut single "When I Said I Would" didn't make much of a dent on Country radio.  Will "The Bed That You Made" suffer the same fate or will this infectious single be the ticket to stardom?

With the story being an elaborate play of the blame game, Whitney Duncan’s second single justifies a rebound, complete with high heels and a next-day return to prove a point to a disloyal lover. With a hand-clap driven beat and lots of percussion, this song seems to go to detailed lengths to punish that lover for doing the exact same thing. For the critics out there, “The Bed That You Made” suffers in concept and reason as it relies on catchy production to appeal to fans so simple that the Shania Twain comparisons fold up and go home in this microwaved hit. All of that being said, to the average fan out there, this song will feel like an anthem of strength and resolve as Whitney sings of a woman strong enough to show-up her man.

And sometimes that’s what it takes to get noticed, particularly in a crowded radio market.

"The Bed That You Made" is a song that will remind folks of Shania’s absence. The sassy lyric (and vocal delivery), combined with an ultra-hooky melody, is the exact thing we came to expect from Shania Twain that one might be easily confused that it isn’t the latest Twain song. Fans and radio will eat this up, just like they did for a majority of Twain’s critically-panned singles. This, friends, is definitely worth the price to pay to get the talented Duncan on the airwaves and a record on store shelves.
