Rascal Flatts - Greatest Hits, Volume One

It seems like nobody told Rascal Flatts about the doomed music economy as they've sold over 16 million units since their arrival eight years ago.  Covering their first four albums, "Greatest Hits, Volume One" serves a nice introduction to the band.

The set occasionally gets locked into featuring a bit too much of this format, and the collection’s later tracks like 'My Wish' seem like filler. Yet, the strength of the song selection illustrates what has made Rascal Flatts so successful, especially through the midway point where tracks like 'Fast Cars and Freedom' and 'Skin (Sarabeth)' show the group’s range and Rooney’s soaring lead guitar. The first printing of this greatest hits album includes three new tracks, all of which are Christmas songs just in time for holiday shoppers. Interestingly though, these three songs are the closest the crossover group ever gets to traditional country on this album.
