Mel McDaniel - "Countrified"

Looking at a frog eating up my fishbait

Sitting on the bank of the riverside

took a drink from my jug of moonshine

didn’t had a chaser and almost died

thinking about working on Monday morning

never can wait till quitting time

just to get down to the water

to wet my fishing line

well i am countyfleid i like my chicken fried

i like to walked barefooted though the countryside

well i ‘m country folks

I like to roll my smokes

I loved to hear a fiddle played cotton-eyed Joe

I not much on conversation

but they say i am hell when I get tight

I like to get out my ol’ coondogs

and shin d up the trees at night

I like to sit around the campfire and hear ol’ Blue at work

running them Cajun critters for everything they’re worth

well i countrified

i like my chicken fried

I like to walked barefooted though the countryside

well i ‘m country folks

I like to roll my smokes

I loved to hear a fiddle played cotton -eyed Joe

well i like to sit down with my woman

watched TV after suppertime

and snuggled real close together

cause she knows how to eased my mind

talked about days when we were younger and think about the days when we get old

like the lazy days of summer

we like to watched the fog rolled

well i countryfleid

I like my chicken fried

I like to walked barefooted though the countryside

well i ‘m country folks

i like rolled my smokes

I loved to hear a fiddle played cotton - eyed Joe
