gaines chris - "unsigned letter2"

#

Song name: Unsigned Letter

This is an easy song to play. It can be played with barred chords, but it
sounds better playing only two strings of the chord: the bass one and its
5th (like Basket Case from Greenday). I mean, for the D chord, you can play
X 5 7 7 7 5 or just X 5 7 X X X. I play it with the acoustic guitar, but
I think it would sound cool playing the electric guitar.

UNSIGNED LETTER (Gordon Kennedy, Wayne Kirkpatrick, Tommy Simms)

Intro: D A# F C (twice)

D A#
She got an unsigned letter from her secret someone

F C
And she fell into the mystery

D A#
Words were few and specifically vague

F C
Intrinsic intrigue

G
But it said everything

A#
When it just read come to me

She's always been that responsible someone
Safe within her simplicity
But all this cloak and dagger is stoking her heart
Stroking her curiosity
Is plain little Jane
Gonna risk everything

Chorus:
D
Is she gonna strike the match

A#
That'll surely light the flame

C D
Is she carrying a torch for love in vain

D
Is she gonna break the locks

A#
Take a look inside the box

C G
Knowing that she could release Pandora's shame

A#
Welcome to the game

D
What's in a name

She must be dreamin' as she boards a plane
And flies into her fantasy
A first class ticket to the city of Boston
Is all she knows of her destiny
When she touches down
Will her feet hit the ground

Repeat chorus

Is our plain little Jane
Gonna risk everything

Repeat chorus
